Description
1971-S WDDO-017 is a doubled die obverse on the 1971-S silver proof Eisenhower dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. A Class V counterclockwise (CCW) spread, pivoting at 7:00, is seen on LIBERTY; IN, the date and TR of TRUST show it slightly. The obverse has the Peg Leg R. Short diagonal scratches lie inside GOD's O, right of the base of its G, and between the bases of TRUST's T and R, and the upper ear has a small gouge (dot) on its left side. The reverse is the doubled die Wexler lists as 1971-S WDDR-015. Thomas Kalantzis and Terry Zerr submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
