Cataloged by VarietyVista as UVC-563 with die marriage reference DMR-008, the 1971-S Repunched Mintmark RPM-005 is a proof Roosevelt Dime exhibiting an S/S East repunched mintmark — where the initial S mintmark was positioned west of its intended location, and the corrective second punch placed the final S eastward. The die state progression documents Stage A with both obverse and reverse in early die state, Stage B as mid-die-state (unconfirmed), and Stage C as late die state (unconfirmed). The 1971-S proof Roosevelt Dime was produced at the San Francisco Mint, continuing the proof set tradition that had resumed in 1968. John R. Sinnock designed the Roosevelt Dime with its obverse portrait of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the reverse torch flanked by olive and oak branches.
