Description
1971-D WRPM-001 is a repunched mint mark on the 1971-D Kennedy half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as a D/D Tilted (Rotated). The obverse is the Hidden Hair Strand type and carries the series doubling WSDO-001. Near the center of the space between the T and R of TRUST are two short NW/SE scratches. The reverse has a large semi-flanged G, and HALF's F has a short N/S gouge in its upper opening, placed over the right end of the letter's lower horizontal bar. Michael Taw submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
