Description
The 1970-D Doubled Die Reverse DDR-006 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1970 (D) Kennedy Half Dollar, part of the Kennedy Half Dollars Silver Clad 1965-1970 series. Die markers: UVC-381 DMR-008 Stage A: Die gouges on ED of UNITED – EDS Obverse is EDS Stage B: Die gouge under star below E of STATES – MDS Light die gouge over E of LIBERTY – MDS Stage C: Die scratches Northeast-Southwest on Reverse – LMDS Obverse is LMDS Stage D: LDS (unconfirmed). Can be found in small date Mint Sets. Reverse is RDV-002 (Flared G).
