Description
The 1970-D Doubled Die Reverse DDR-002 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1970 (D) Kennedy Half Dollar, part of the Kennedy Half Dollars Silver Clad 1965-1970 series. Die markers: UVC-155 DMR-004 Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: Die gouge at rim just to the Left of the first A of AMERICA – MDS Obverse is MDS Stage C: Die gouge at rim just to the Right of the F of OF – LMDS Numerous die scratches on Reverse Numerous die scratches on Obverse – LMDS Stage D: Die gouge at rim to the Right of the last S of STATES – LDS Numerous die scratches on Reverse Light die clash in front of forehead – LDS Stage E: Die scratch from lower E of UNITED to lower first S of STATES – LDS Obverse is LDS.
