It appears on a 1968-S proof Roosevelt dime struck at the San Francisco Mint. The Roosevelt dime, introduced in 1946, was redesigned for clad composition beginning in 1965, with the 1968-S proof struck in copper-nickel clad weighing 2.27 grams with a 17.9 mm diameter. The doubling on DDR-001 is strong and widespread, affecting UNITED STATES OF, ONE DIME, and E PLURIBUS UNUM, with notched corners visible on AMERICA.
