1964 Roosevelt Dime - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-026

Description

1964 WDDR-026 is a doubled die reverse on the 1964 Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A very close spread toward the center appears on the lettering around the rim, UNUM's M and the oak leaves on the right. On the obverse, a short die crack runs NE from the bridge of the nose, another crack runs south from the rim through the far left of LIBERTY's E, and a light crack runs SE from the rim at 8:00 over IN's I. On the reverse, a die crack runs north from the rim, passing inside the vertical bar of STATES's E, a slightly curving E/W crack joins R, I and C of AMERICA, and a crack runs SSW through AMERICA's C. Frank Baumann submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 12-R-II.
