1964 Roosevelt Dime - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-004

Description

1964 WDDR-004 is a doubled die reverse on the 1964 Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A spread toward the center appears on ONE DIME, NUM of UNUM and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, strongest on the right half of the reverse. The obverse has a Blunt Tail 9 and a SW/NE scratch through the date's 6, with many other scratches across the obverse. On the reverse, several scratches run from the lower part of UNITED's D to STATES's first S, several SW/NE scratches cross the letters of ONE, and many other scratches cover the reverse. Between STATES's T and E, a die crack heads south off the rim. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler's comments note that it closely resembles WDDR-030 and suggest comparing the doubling and die markers.
