Description
1964 WDDO-022 is a doubled die obverse on the 1964 proof Kennedy half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. A strong counterclockwise (CCW) spread pivots near 10:00 and shows on the date, the L and TY of LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, the designer's initials, the lower ear and the hair at the back of the head. Wexler notes no significant obverse markers. The reverse has the flared G in FG, and its slight doubling on USA (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA) and the ring of stars comes, per Wexler, from the doubled master die WMDR-001. John A. Wexler submitted the variety, and CONECA lists it as 21-O-V. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
