1964-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-010

Description

RPM-010 records a north-direction D/D repunched mintmark on a 1964-D Roosevelt Dime struck with ODV-011 (blunt 9) obverse die variety, catalogued UVC-489 and DMR-037 across three die stages. Stage A is the early die state (unconfirmed); Stage B is the mid die state; Stage C is the late die state (unconfirmed). The ODV-011 designation indicates this die carries a blunt 9 in the date — a distinctive obverse punch characteristic that provides an independent identification point separate from the mintmark repunch. The 1964-D Roosevelt Dime was the final year of 90% silver dimes before the Coinage Act of 1965 mandated the switch to copper-nickel clad composition, giving the entire 1964-D issue special historical significance as the last silver Roosevelt Dime from the Denver Mint. RPM-010's combination of the north-direction mintmark repunch and the ODV-011 blunt-9 obverse makes it a doubly attributable variety.
