1964-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-007

Description

Showing a D/D Rotated CCW displacement with Obverse ODV-010 (pointed 9), this VarietyVista-cataloged 1964-D Roosevelt dime from the Denver Mint was struck in the final year of silver dime production before the Coinage Act of 1965 eliminated silver from circulating coinage. Die markers UVC-486 / DMR-034: Stage A at EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B with reverse and obverse at MDS; Stage C with reverse at LDS, a die crack across the hair onto the forehead, and a small die chip on the second die crack in the hair. The counterclockwise rotation of the secondary D creates an angular overlap distinguishable from simple directional displacements. Composed of 90% silver and 10% copper at 2.50 grams and 17.91 mm, the 1964-D had an enormous mintage exceeding 1.35 billion pieces.
