Description
1963 WDDO-004 is a doubled die obverse on the 1963 proof Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A clockwise (CW) spread pivoting at 4:00 appears on IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY, the designer's initials and the hair atop the head. Wexler records no significant obverse markers. The reverse is a minor doubled die, carried in Wexler's doubled die files as 1963 proof WDDR-004: its Class I clockwise (CW) spread leaves notches on the upper letters of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and on ONE DIME's lower letters, and E PLU is lightly doubled. A gouge sits on the upper left of DIME's E. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
