Description
The 1963 Proof Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-016 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1963 Proof Lincoln Memorial Cent, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. Die markers: Obverse: A short diagonal die scratch is present at the top of the forehead just under the hairline. A short vertical die gouge is present ot the right of the upper S in TRUST. A short vertical die gouge is present to the right of the second T in TRUST. Reverse: A strong die gouge is present to the right of the upper F in OF.
