Description
1961 WDDR-007 is a doubled die reverse on the 1961 proof Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A very strong spread toward the center appears on every letter and dot around the rim, E PLURIBUS UNUM, the flame, both lower stems, the leaves on both sides, the upper torch holder and the base of the lower torch holder. TES of STATES is tripled. On the obverse, a gouge (dot) sits at the lower opening of the ear. On the reverse, the top leaf on the left has a N/S scratch. Kevin Flynn submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
