1961 Proof Roosevelt Dime - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-003

Description

1961 WDDR-003 is a doubled die reverse on the 1961 proof Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A spread toward the center appears on UNITED STATES, E PLU of E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE, the flame and the upper left leaves, with strong notching on UNITED. Obverse Stage A has small NE/SW scratches at the bust's point and at IN GOD WE TRUST. Obverse Stage B adds a small die dot centered between TRUST's first T and R. Reverse Stage A has a short scratch in the field right of UNITED's I, slightly below its center. Reverse Stage B adds die chips at the lower left points of UNITED's D and of the E of E PLURIBUS UNUM. Roy Pilot submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
