Description

Class II, Distorted Hub Doubling     "Best Of" Nickel Doubled Die VarietiesA strong spread toward the rim shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM decreasing from left to right.  Close tripling shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FIVE and MON of MONTICELLO also decreasing from left to right, and the left windows of the building. Die Markers: Obverse: Strong die gouges to left of upper left tip of W of WE. Reverse: Two diagonal die scratches on lower right side of building; three diagonal die scratches on left side of building.
