Description

Class II, Distorted Hub DoublingThis variety was formerly listed as WDDR-122.  It replaces the original WDDR-007 listing which was delisted because it was a doubled working hub.  Very nice Class II doubling shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM, slightly decreasing from left to right.  Very nice tripling shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, slightly decreasing from left to right.  Nice doubling shows on FIVE CENT, MON of MONTICELLO, and the left side of the building. Die Markers: Obverse: Slanted die scratches in Jefferson's hair north of his ear. Reverse: Slanted die scratch from top left side of long right window; vertical die gouge from bottom of O of OF; parallel die scratches on rim from UNITED through STATES; die scratch extending from the top of N of CENTS; die dot below E of MONTICELLO.
