Description

Exhibiting a close Class II spread towards the center on the letters of IN GOD WE TRUST, WDDO-004 is a proof doubled die obverse on the 1960 Lincoln Memorial Cent Large Date. Class II doubling results from a rotational misalignment between hub impressions, where the pivot point determines which design elements show the strongest spread. On this variety, the doubling is subtle and concentrated in the motto, requiring careful examination under magnification to distinguish the secondary hub impression from the primary. The obverse belongs to the Large Date subtype, and no significant die markers have been identified on either the obverse or reverse, meaning attribution depends primarily on detecting the Class II spread itself.
