1960 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-007

Description

Clockwise spread pivoting from approximately 7:00 — the lower-left quadrant of the die face — manifests on USA, the upper left leaves, the torch flames, and the upper right leaves on this proof-only seventh doubled die reverse for the 1960 Philadelphia Mint Roosevelt Dime. Rotational spread from a specific pivot point is characteristic of Class V pivoted hub doubling, where the hub and die were slightly rotated relative to each other around a fixed point during one of the multiple hubbing impressions. Two parallel die scratches running nearly north to south through the two leaves left of the torch top provide the primary reverse die marker. No significant obverse markers were noted.
