Description
1960 WDDR-002 is a doubled die reverse on the 1960 proof Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Very strong doubling, spread toward the center, appears on ONE, the left dot, E PLURIB of E PLURIBUS UNUM, UNITED STATES OF, the flame's left side, the torch holder's left side and base, the upper right outer leaf at its tip, and every detail of the left branch and leaves. On the obverse, NW/SE scratches mark the neck behind the ear. On the reverse, a large gouge lies between AMERICA's M and E, between their tops and centers. Joe Feld submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
