Description

The 1958-D Lincoln Wheat Cent RPM-014 is catalogued by VarietyVista with die codes UVC-601 and DMR-017, struck in 95% bronze in the final year of the Wheat cent design. The wheat ear reverse introduced in 1909 was replaced the following year by the Lincoln Memorial reverse for the 50th anniversary. The repunch is a D/D Rotated Clockwise shift — the mintmark punch first applied with a clockwise rotation, then reapplied in the correct orientation — leaving the earlier rotated D visible beside the primary mintmark. Three die stages are documented: Stage A shows obverse and reverse in early die state simultaneously.
