Error
Description
Trails hang from the bases of the LIBERTY letters on 1956PR-1DEO-001T, a 1956 proof Lincoln Wheat cent obverse, and run due south at 180°, straight toward the bottom rim. Reading the code: 1956 is the date, PR flags a proof, 1 is the cent, DEO is TrailDies' tag for an obverse design extension, 001 the file number, T the trail type. Robert M. Pelletier found the die. The one marker on the stage B coin is a small scratch inside the G of GOD, and TrailDies notes nothing on the reverse, so the placement of the lines under LIBERTY is the main guide. The prevailing explanation for trails is a rotary buff used to polish the die, and the alternative is the die moving against the hub.
