Description
Class II, Distorted Hub DoublingA spread toward the center, increasing from left to right, shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, with evidence of tripling on some lower serifs. A stronger constant spread toward the center shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM. Die Markers: Obverse: Heavy die gouge on base of shoulder under queue. Reverse: Several die scratches curving SW from lower portion of B of PLURIBUS; three parallel, diagonal die scratches between lower portions of L and U of PLURIBUS; numerous interesting die scratches over left and right roofs; die scratch through lower portions of TIC of MONTICELLO.
