Presenting a split-manifestation doubling pattern where different obverse elements show different doubling types, DDO-001 on the 1954-D Jefferson Nickel displays light spread on LIBERTY, the five-pointed star, and the date alongside extra thickness on IN GOD WE TRUST. Die markers UVC-892 and DMR-006 confirm this working die. The split between spread (on LIBERTY, star, and date) and extra thickness (on the motto) reveals a hub displacement that produced slightly different visual outcomes at different positions on the die face: the motto's orientation or position relative to the displacement axis resulted in near-coincident broadening, while LIBERTY, the star, and the date — at different angles or distances from the displacement center — experienced enough offset to generate separated secondary images. This split-manifestation signature is diagnostically valuable because it provides a built-in self-verification: a genuine DDO-001 must show thickened IN GOD WE TRUST without clearly separated doubling while simultaneously showing separated spread on the other three elements, and any specimen that displays uniform manifestation across all four areas warrants re-examination against other catalog entries. As DDO-001, this variety holds the primary doubled die obverse designation for the 1954 Denver Mint nickel. Struck in standard copper-nickel composition (75% copper, 25% nickel), the 1954-D was produced in substantial quantities at the Denver Mint. Felix Schlag's obverse positions the affected elements across a wide arc of the die face. Examination should compare IN GOD WE TRUST stroke width against a known normal before confirming spread on LIBERTY and the date under 7x magnification.
