Description
The 1953-S Repunched Mintmark RPM-010 shows mintmark repunching evidence from the hand-punching process used at the Philadelphia Mint to apply branch mint letters to working dies. This Lincoln cent was struck at the San Francisco Mint, weighing 3.11 grams with a diameter of 19.05 mm. Die markers: UVC-488 DMR-013 Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: Obverse and Reverse are MDS Stage C: Obverse is LDS Light die crack upper Left wheat lines to rim – LDS UVC-489 DMR-014 Stage D: Obverse is LDS Reverse die changed – LDS Stage E: Numerous die scratches North-South on Obverse – LDS Numerous die scratches North-South on Reverse – LDS Stage F: Very weak Obverse and Reverse die scratches – VLDS Stage G: Die chip BIE – VLDS Die cracks from top & bottom back of B of LIBERTY Reverse is VLDS.
