Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1952-S 5¢ WRPM-007 with no known external cross-references, this San Francisco Jefferson Nickel carries die markers across both faces. Obverse: light NNW/SSE die scratches in front of the profile. Reverse: heavy N/S die scratches in the right archway, a heavy NNW/SSE die scratch through the left small window, and a heavy NNW/SSE die scratch through the FI of FIVE. The contrast between light obverse and heavy reverse scratches suggests the reverse die received more aggressive handling or maintenance. The directional consistency of the scratches (NNW/SSE on multiple features) indicates a single die-surface maintenance event where an abrasive tool was drawn at a consistent angle. Schlag's design was struck in 75% copper and 25% nickel at 5.0 grams and 21.21 mm, with the multiple heavy reverse markers providing robust attribution points.
