1952 (D) Jefferson Nickel - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-006

Description

1952-D WRPM-006 is a repunched mint mark on the 1952-D Jefferson nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. The secondary D is tilted (rotated) relative to the primary (D/D Tilted (Rotated)). On the obverse, thin north-south die scratches lie in front of the face and thin NE/SW ones before the forehead; weak concentric scratches follow the rim all around; a weak scratch crosses the G in GOD on its right side; and thin north-south and NW/SE scratches lie behind the head. Gouges touch the N in IN on its right side, sit above the G in GOD toward its right, lie between the S and T of TRUST at their bottoms, and sit right of the 2 in the date, near its top. On the reverse, a weak NW/SE scratch lies above the last U in PLURIBUS, and a thin scratch sits under the U in UNITED. UNUM's UM has a curved gouge through it; a series of gouges crosses the E PLU of E PLURIBUS UNUM; a gouge sits halfway from MONTICELLO's CE to the EN of CENTS; and several gouges lie left of the building.
