Description
S/S/S West and West Die Markers: Obverse Obverse Stage A: Numerous light parallel die scratches run North from around the 1 & 9 in the date. A strong die scratch runs South from the lower tail of the 9 in the date, just left of the mint mark. Two die scratches run South from either side of the 5 in the date. A die clash shows at the neck. Numerous N-S die scratches show on the on the back of the neck and below the ear. Numerous N-S die scratches run through LIBERTY with some running all the way North to the G in GOD. Obverse Stage B: A die dot shows in the field just right of the bridge of the nose. A die gouge runs SW-NE inside the lower opening of the G in GOD. A tiny tie dot shows between the lower G and O in GOD. Reverse Stage A: A die gouge (dot) shows above and between the U and N in UNITED. A die dot shows along the left upper side of the I in UNITED. A light die scratch runs N-S through the left tip of the horizontal crossbar of the T in CENT. A light die scratch runs North from the upper left side of the E in STATES. A long die scratch runs South from the lower left corner of the N in CENT. Two parallel die scratches run N-S to the left of the right wheat stem base. A light die scratch runs South from the center of the lower curve of the C in CENT. Reverse Stage B: The Stage A die dot above the U & N in UNITED is still present. A new and stronger die dot shows North of the die dot between the U & N in UNITED. A tiny die crack runs N-S on the upper left of the second wheat kernel in the left wheat stalk.
