1950 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-006

Description

1950-S WRPM-006 is a repunched mint mark on the 1950-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S East: the secondary S lies east of the primary. Obverse markers: faded scratches heading north from the date's 9; a die dot on the bust's front edge, WSW of the mint mark's lower edge; and a tiny dot in the field NE of the bow tie. Reverse markers: three parallel scratches heading SSE from under the E's upper crossbar in CENT; a heavy but faded scratch heading south from the E of ONE at its lower left, stopping just under the T's crossbar in CENT, at its left side; a short scratch heading north from the upper left of the O in ONE; a dot along the outer lower left margin of the C in CENT; another dot in the field north of the N in UNITED, toward its left side; and light N-S scratches above UNITED's UN and SW of CENT's C. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as RPM #16 and Coppercoins as 1950S-1MM-028.
