Description

D/D Tilted (Rotated) Die Markers: Obverse: The obverse is also a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die files as 1949-D 1¢ WDDO-003. A spread towards the center from a weak hubbing shows on the letters of IN GOD WE TRUST. Long NE/SW die scratch through the mint mark. Die scratch SSW from the lower right of the D in GOD. Doubling shows on D WE TR of IGWT, the right side of the upper hair and the LIB in LIBERTY. Reverse: NE/SW die scratch in the field right of the lower area of the E in ONE. Heavy die gouge curving to the east from the lower right center of the E in UNITED. NNE die scratch from the top of the first A in AMERICA. Obverse:
