Description
1949-D WRPM-042 is a repunched mint mark on the 1949-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated): the extra D is rotated relative to the primary. Obverse markers: NW/SE scratches above the right side of the date's second 9; a wavy east-west scratch through the upper part of GOD; a light east-west scratch through the upper part of TRUST; and W-shaped scratches above LIBERTY's Y. Reverse markers: heavy NE/SW scratches below PLURIBUS's P and through the bottom of its first U; right-leaning X-shaped scratches between CENT's T, at its top, and the right wheat ear's top left; and a NE/SW scratch through the top of AMERICA's first A. David Mulberry submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
