1949 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-030

Description

1949-D WRPM-030 is a repunched mint mark on the 1949-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D West: the extra D lies west of the primary. Obverse Stage A: a chip at the left inside of the date's 4, and scratches in the eye pocket. Obverse Stage B adds a small chip (dot) below TRUST's last T, to the SSE. Reverse Stage A: two chips (dots) in the field slightly below the left center of CENT's T. On Reverse Stage B those chips remain, and a north-south scratch sits centered inside the bottom of PLURIBUS's B. Lloyd Hanson submitted Stage A and Gary Shaffstall Stage B. Wexler lists no cross-references.
