Description

D/D Tilted (Rotated) Die Markers: Obverse: Stage A: Short die gouge west from the left upper side of the N of IN. Die chip (dot) between the lower lip and the chin. Stage B: The die gouge west from the left upper side of the N in IN is weakly visible. The die chip (dot) between the lower lip and the chin from Stage A is worn away. A die clash line shows to the right of Lincoln’s throat. A short, N-S oriented die scratch shows to the right of the upper crossbar of the first T in TRUST. A die gouge (dot) shows well south of the letters IB in LIBERTY. Reverse: Stage A: Two die chips where the left wheat lines and grains meet on the left wheat ear. Stage B: The die chips on the central left wheat have grown stronger. A faded die gouge runs from the rim, left of the upper right wheat lines at approximately 3:00.
