1949 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-024

Description

1949-D WRPM-024 is a repunched mint mark on the 1949-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D South: the extra D lies south of the primary. Obverse Stage A: light scratches along the bust, under the designer's initials. Obverse Stage B adds an east-west crack over VDB. Reverse Stage A: a gouge at the lower left side of PLURIBUS's second U. Reverse Stage B adds a small chip between the lower ES of STATES and a small chip at the bottom right of AMERICA's last A, beside the right wheat stalk's edge. David Mulberry submitted Stage A and Ben Peters Stage B. Wexler lists no cross-references.
