Description

1949-D WRPM-023 is a repunched mint mark on the 1949-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated): the extra D is rotated relative to the primary. Obverse markers: a scratch at the rim above the date's 9, and a scratch running south from the 9's bottom left to the bottom of the vest. Reverse marker: paired scratches running south from the right side of UNUM's first U and stopping at the lower arm of ONE's E, at its bottom right. Ben Peters submitted the variety.
