Description
Featuring a D/D Rotated CCW displacement, this VarietyVista-documented Denver Mint Lincoln Wheat Cent RPM-009 tracks evolving die scratch patterns across four stages. Die markers UVC-321 / DMR-010: Stage A at EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B with obverse at MDS and two strong die scratches southwest from the last A of AMERICA to wheat stem at EMDS; Stage C with obverse at LMDS and a new light die scratch pattern on reverse at LMDS; Stage D with obverse at LDS and weaker die scratches on reverse at LDS. The appearance of fresh die scratches at Stage C suggests the reverse die received surface maintenance mid-life, introducing new scratch patterns while earlier marks weakened. The counter-clockwise rotational displacement creates an angular offset distinguishing this from simple directional RPMs. Struck in 95% copper and 5% tin-zinc at 3.11 grams and 19.05 mm at Denver.
