Recorded by VarietyVista, this Denver Mint Lincoln Wheat Cent RPM-003 provides a clear three-stage mintmark attenuation record with robust secondary die markers. Die markers UVC-315 / DMR-004: Stage A shows a strong secondary mintmark at EDS with circular die scratches under bust and die gouges over PLURI of PLURIBUS at EDS. Stage B has a medium secondary mintmark at MDS with fine die scratches East-West through the date area and reverse at MDS. Stage C exhibits a weak secondary mintmark at LDS with a light die crack in the hair and reverse at LDS. The strong-to-medium-to-weak progression documents how sustained striking pressure systematically flattened the displaced D impression. Composed of 95% copper and 5% tin-zinc at 3.11 grams and 19.05 mm, the 1949-D was struck during the post-war boom when Denver production remained at elevated levels.
