Description
1948 WDDO-006 is a doubled die obverse on the 1948 Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. A clockwise (CW) spread pivoting from about 3:00 appears on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, the lower ribbon, the designer's initials and the date. On the obverse, a scratch links the L and B in LIBERTY, running from the L's bottom right to the B's bottom left. On the reverse, a crack descends the eagle's right wing. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
