Description

1948-D WRPM-015 is a repunched mint mark on the 1948-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated): the extra D is rotated relative to the primary. Obverse markers: a chip on the 9's upper left edge; a light gouge low on the 9's inside edge; an east-west scratch that starts between LIBERTY's I and B and runs east to end above its T; strong gouges under VDB; and a scratch over TRUST's S. Reverse markers: a long scratch that starts at the center of the right edge of CENT's T, runs south past the right edge of STATES' T, and ends on the top right edge of AMERICA's last A; a field chip above UNITED's I; a scratch at the left wheat stalk's lower right edge that runs NE through OF's O and also ends on the top right edge of AMERICA's last A; scratches on the right edge of the upper right wheat stalk; and scratches on the edge of, and to the upper right of, the right wheat stalk.
