1946 Roosevelt Dime - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-019

Description

1946 WDDO-019 is a doubled die obverse on the 1946 Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A close Class I clockwise (CW) spread shows on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, the designer's initials and the date. The obverse is Type I. A scratch runs north from the upper right of the R in TRUST, and many scratches surround the O in GOD. Ahead of the eye lies a NE/SW scratch, and a scratch runs SSE from the right center of the vertical bar of TRUST's second T. The reverse shows the doubling of the reverse doubled working hub WWHR-001. A gouge lies low between the I and T of UNITED, and curving, mostly E/W scratches mark the lower olive. Jim Brown submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Its comments say it was formerly WDDO-030 and was renumbered when the doubled obverse working hub was found and left large gaps in the listings.
