Error
Description
A close Class II spread towards the center shows on the designer's initials and the Y of LIBERTY. Die Markers: Obverse: Type I. Die gouge (dot) east of the head on the temple. Small die gougess and light scratches on the left side of all the letters of LIBERTY. Die scratch NW from the upper right of the S of TRUST. Short NW die scratches from the left side of IN. Long N/S die scratch west of the forehead. Light scratches below the 4 of the date. Reverse: The reverse of this variety is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1946 10¢ WDDR-005. A strong Class V CW spread from a pivot at about 4:00 shows on USA, the left side of the flame, and the left leaves, EPU, ONE DIME and the right leaves. Tripling shows on the lower AMER of AMERICA. Three die scratches NW from the upper acorn into the leaf. Series of die scratches west of the lower olive running WNW/ESE. Light die scratches from the A of STATES running SE through the upper flame.
