Description
A class II spread towards the center shows on the designer's initials, the date, the lower bust, IGWT, and the ear. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Type I. Short die gouge SW from the upper left R of LIBERTY. Four short die scratches south from the upper eyelid. Die clash marks on upper nose. NE/SW die scratch at the brow. N/S die scratch from the chin running through the lower lip and almost to nose. Series of N/S scratches in the field between the brow and the ER of LIBERTY. Obverse Stage B: All stage A markers are weak. Small die gouge inside the forks of the Y of LIBERTY closer to the left. Reverse Stage A: Die scratch WSW from the lower E of STATES. Die scratch NW from the upper P of PLURIBUS to olive leaf. Die scratch from the lower right D of UNITED, NE through the first S of STATES to the rim. Weak die clash from below the stem of the olive branch and along the left side of the olive branch. NNE/SSW die scratches through the lower opening of the M in DIME. Two short die gouges left center on the outside of the first A in AMERICA. Reverse Stage B: Stage A markers are present but weaker. Die gouge in the field east from the bottom of the flame.
