Description
1946 WDDO-009 is a doubled die obverse on the 1946 Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A Class V counterclockwise (CCW) spread from a pivot near 5:00 shows on RTY of LIBERTY and on the hair details along the front top of the head. The obverse is Type I. On the Y in LIBERTY, a NNE/SSW scratch links the fork with the vertical bar on the right side, and a NE/SW scratch crosses the R's right leg in LIBERTY. On the reverse, a NW/SE scratch crosses the left leg of AMERICA's first A, and a short, heavy WSW/ENE gouge sits between the U of UNITED and the E of E PLURIBUS UNUM. Whaden Curtis submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
