1946 Doubled Die Obverse DDO-006

Description

Cataloged by VarietyVista with UVC-753 and DMR-037 tracking codes, the 1946 Roosevelt Dime DDO-006 displays light spread across the date, designer's initials (JS for John R. Sinnock), IN GOD WE TRUST, and LIBERTY. The spread appearing on both the designer's initials and the larger text elements indicates a hub displacement that affected a wide area of the obverse die during the hubbing process. The 1946 holds special significance as the inaugural year of the Roosevelt Dime, introduced to honor President Franklin D. Roosevelt following his death in April 1945, with John R.
