The Roosevelt Dime debuted in 1946 following President Franklin D. Roosevelt's death in April 1945, with Chief Engraver John R. Sinnock creating a design that featured Roosevelt's portrait on the obverse and a torch flanked by olive and oak branches on the reverse.
