1945 (S) Washington Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001
Error
Description
1945-S WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1945-S Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is a clockwise (CW) spread on QUARTER DOLLAR and on the details of the lower wreath. On the obverse, a short SW/NE scratch links the upper nose and the left eye. The reverse also carries a repunched mint mark, an S/S Northeast (the extra S lies northeast) which the Wexler RPM files carry as 1945-S WRPM-001. A WNW/ESE gouge crosses the lower D in DOLLAR. Kevin Flynn submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
