1945 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-008

Description

DDR-008 on the 1945 Washington Quarter is cataloged under die UVC-0543 / DMR-028. The doubling is a light spread on QUARTER, the left wreath leaves, and the branch. Stage C (LDS) shows a die crack from the eagle's right wing to the Q of QUARTER, a second crack through URIBUS into the wing beneath AMERIC, and a third crack east from the eagle's head, while the obverse is also in late die state. The Stage C crack network — wing-to-Q and URIBUS-to-wing — forms a distinctive pattern useful for die-state pinpointing. The doubling on QUARTER and the left-branch leaves is subtle and best examined at 5–10x magnification. The 1945 Washington Quarter is a 90% silver Philadelphia Mint issue. Attribution begins with QUARTER doubling, then confirms with the stage-appropriate crack pattern.
