Description
A close spread towards the center shows on USA and QUARTER DOLLAR with the strongest spread on the upper half of the reverse. The doubling is best seen on the lower serifs of the letters. Die Markers: Obverse: Vertical die scratches can be found to the left of the upper neck. SW/NE die scratches can be found to the left of the lips. Other die scratches can be found throughout the obverse. A die crack runs across the base of the bust. Reverse: A die scratch connects the upper I and T in UNITED.
