Cataloged by VarietyVista as 1944-D DDO-010 (10-O-V-CCW), this Denver Mint Washington quarter shows light doubling on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date. The V-CCW in the designation marks Class V doubling, where the second hub impression was pivoted, here counterclockwise. ZAP's Coins reported the variety. VarietyVista records the die pair as UVC-0479 / DMR-018 and has confirmed only Stage B, a late obverse die with a light crack across the upper hair and another across the bust, paired with a reverse in late-middle die state; Stages A and C are unconfirmed. The 1944-D quarter was struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, from John Flanagan's design.
