Description
A very close CCW spread from a pivot at about 8:00 shows on the date, the designer’s initials, the bottom of the ribbon, and LIBERTY.Die Markers: Obverse: Two parallel die scratches curve NE from the bottom right side of the B in LIBERTY. A die crack runs across the base of the bust and the lower queue extending to the top of the one in the date. An E/W die crack runs through the hair at the top of the head. Reverse: The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1943-S 25¢ WDDR-001. Extremely strong Class VI extra thickness shows on QUARTER DOLLAR, USA, EPU, the wreath, the outer edges of both wings, and the top of the eagle’s head. A die crack runs down the eagle’s right wing from the N in UNITED. A die crack runs from the S in PLURIBUS down the eagle’s left wing.Submitted By: Bob RyanCross References: None known Obverse: A die crack runs east across the upper forehead and into the hair.
