1942 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-014

Description

1942-S WRPM-014 is a repunched mint mark on the 1942-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S West, with the secondary S west of the primary. The Stage A obverse has a short WSW/ENE crack in the hair below GOD's D. On Stage B that crack is longer, and a northeast crack runs from the lower jacket folds into the lapel. The Stage A reverse has a N/S scratch inside CENT's C. On Stage B large die chips sit on the right wheat stalk, and a crack leaves the rim at 3:15, runs onto and along the right wheat ear's right grains into the upper chip, continues south to the next chip and further south, then turns east back toward the rim and wanders south and SE to reach the rim at 4:30. David Bloomberg submitted Stages A and B. Wexler lists no cross-references.
